Every woman has a story. Every woman needs a home.
WE DO NOT LIVE HERE
A Documentary by Rae Ceretto
35.4 million refugees are women and children
We Do Not Live Here is an inspirational documentary about female refugees. By weaving together first hand accounts of women from across the globe, the documentary will show the parallels of refugee life and the power of the female spirit. Through telling their stories, the viewer will gain an understanding of why these women have migrated from their homes to become one of 70.8 million forcibly displaced across the globe due to war, violence, and persecution. With the refugee crisis worsening, this piece of shared global history must be documented in the face of public and political sentiment which vilifies and scapegoats these individuals. We Do Not Live Here aims to make visual the experience of women refugees from around the globe and tell a story that connects us all.
Stories from the Migrant Caravan
"Hard to know where to start. Good things and bad things have happened. We've slept on the street for days wet and without food. We had to leave Honduras because we didn't have enough money for food and to pay off the gangs.
WE HAD TO CHOOSE BETWEEN EATING OR DYING."
